Carlota Roa is a Spanish professor with more than thirty years of experience, having graduated from La Universidad de Ciudad de Mexico with a B.A. in Education. Upon graduation she became the assistant principal for a prestigious bilingual private elementary school in Mexico City. After a decade as assistant principal, Ms. Roa relocated to Los Gatos and began her tenure at the Campbell Union School District, teaching at various schools within the district for ten years from elementary to high school. Having successfully implemented a robust Spanish curriculum, Ms. Roa then joined Hillbrook School as an elementary and middle school Spanish teacher in 2008 until 2019. Ms. Roa then joined The Harker Middle school as 7th and 8th grade Spanish teacher, after which she took two years to complete her M.A. in Spanish from the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain. In addition to having collaborated with the Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation Center in developing after-school Spanish programs, she also offers Spanish summer camps at the Montalvo Arts Center. Ms. Roa is multi-time author and independent publisher under the imprint, Spanish Today.

Genaro Meza-Roa is a native bilingual English and Spanish speaker, who graduated from Washington University with a B.A. in Economics, Politics and Philosophy with a minor in Spanish. As a young man Mr. Meza-Roa became an apprentice of his mother, Ms. Roa, learning the art of being an effective and successful tutor. After a year of careful study, Mr. Meza-Roa began tutoring on his own, and has since tutored Spanish to students of all ages ranging from 1st graders to adults. An advocate for holistic and intuitive pedagogy, Mr. Meza-Roa honors the sanctity of education in every lesson. In addition to Spanish tutoring, Mr. Meza-Roa offers piano tutoring and translation/interpretive services. Mr. Meza-Roa offers Spanish and music camps at the Montalvo Arts Center in collaboration with Ms. Roa. In his free time, Mr. Meza-Roa practices fine arts, athleticism and world travel.
